Fencing

The University of Bristol Fencing Club is an active and exciting club with several successful teams. We cater for all experineces from beginners who have never picked up a weapon before to fencers of international standard.

Our club is perfect for competitive and experienced fencers, and new fencers who want extra training too. All kit is provided by the club.

We have Womens and Mens 1st and 2nd teams, who regularly have home and away matches on Wednesday afternoons against other university teams.

There are sessions for footwork, beginners, intermediate and advanced fencers and lessons from qualified coaches in all three weapons. We have three professional coaches and several qualified student coaches running these sessions. The training venue is in the center of the University Precinct at the Sport, Exercise and Health Center.

As well as training sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday having club membership allows you to attend Tuesday evening training sessions with the South West Region in foil and épée. This is held at a nearby sports center, 15 minutes away from Stoke Bishop and accessible by bus from the city.

If you would like to join the club you will need a Get Active sports pass.
