About Bristol SU Postgraduate Network
**Welcome to Bristol SU Postgraduate Network - the hub for postgraduate students (both research and taught) at the University of Bristol!**
Get involved and keep up to date with the latest PG Network news by joining Bristol SU Postgraduate Network on Facebook or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The PG Network is a student-led initiative for all postgraduate students (both research and taught) that seeks to develop an active, strong and vibrant postgraduate community here at Bristol.
The PG Network provides a real chance for students to together shape and develop Bristol postgraduate community life. Its cohesive and supportive nature inspires postgraduate students to get involved in organising and attending social events, and provides a platform through which students can effectively feed into and influence the decision-making and priority-setting of Bristol SU and the University of Bristol.
About Bristol SU Postgraduate Network Committee
The PG Network is led by a steering group, the Postgraduate Network Committee. The PG Network Committee are here to listen to your views, to advise, to take effective action, and to support and facilitate your ideas, whether this be for social events or improvements in your academic experience. The Committee hosts academic and social events throughout the year that bring together students from all over the university, to discuss, share experiences and relax.
The PG Network Committee is chaired by Ben Hudson. Voting for membership of the Committee took place between Monday 6 October 2014 and Sunday 12 October 2014. The results were as follows:
Vice Chair: Jingwen Dai
International Representative: Jude Nassar
Postgraduate Taught Representative: Yunjie Shen and Emma Ranger
Postgraduate Research Representative: Rachel Harris
"I’m Rachel and I'm a 2nd year Neuroscience PhD student based at Southmead Hospital. I represent the views of postgraduate research students (PGRs) on the Postgraduate Network Committee. I also help run Postgraduate Network events and sit on several committees within the University to communicate the views of PGRs.?"
Events/ Marketing Officer: Antonis Vaefas
Postgraduate Network Assistant: Sahar Shah
"Hi, I'm Sahar! I'm studying for an LLM in Labour Law and Corporate Governance. As the new Postgraduate Network Assistant, I will be working to develop the reach of the Postgraduate Network alongside Ben Hudson, Imogen Hughes and Laura Ho. In addition to providing administrative support and dealing with the Network's publicity and communications, I will be helping to plan a number of flagship events for members of the Network in the upcoming year. If you have any suggestions about how the Postgraduate Network can do more to engage (and create an enjoyable academic experience for) postgraduate students throughout the university, I would love to hear from you!"
