Head of Finance (Maternity Cover)

We’re looking for someone with the passion to manage Bristol SU’s finance function to ensure maximum impact for students now and in the future.

As an advisor to the management team and leader of a team you will be responsible for shaping and delivering outstanding services, working with and through a team of dedicated staff and student leaders.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the activities and strategies within your area contribute towards the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the organisation and to deliver against Bristol SU’s charitable objects.

What’s the job?
Role:  Head of Finance (maternity cover)
Hours: Part time at 0.6 FTE. We will consider requests for flexible working.  You do not have fixed hours of work and have the professional autonomy to work flexibly as required to meet the demands of the job.  You will be expected to work the hours necessary in order for you to fulfil the requirements of the job.
Salary: £38,738 - £45,583 per annum (pro-rata)
Contract:  Fixed term maternity cover for 15 months (ASAP to June 2020)
Closing date:  9am on Friday 22nd March 2019

Who are you?

  • You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • You’ll have significant experience in financial accounting including the completion of year end statutory accounts
  • You’ll have excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills and a good working knowledge of several accounting packages
  • You will be a strong leader with well-developed management skills
  • You will have the skills and experience to adapt quickly to a busy and diverse working environment
