Student Voice Coordinator (Digital Strategy) 


We’re looking for someone with the passion to put student experiences and student voice at the heart of designing and delivering the University of Bristol’s new Digital Strategy.  You will lead on designing and managing a programme of student consultation and co-creation work to meet the Strategy’s needs. To do this you will identify opportunities to use innovative research, consultation and co-creation approaches to ensure Bristol students are meaningfully informing and shaping the Strategy at every stage. Your work will also contribute to a step change at the University regarding its partnership and engagement with the student body.

Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £26,197 - £29,157 
Contract:  2 years (fixed term)

Who are you? 
•    You’ll have experience in managing multiple or complex projects involving a range of stakeholders.
•    You know how to design engaging and interactive research, consultation and cocreation activities and how to support and motivate students to engage with them meaningfully.
•    You’ll be confident at presenting the findings of research or consultation in an accessible and engaging way to maximise their impact.
•    You’re a natural problem solver and are able to develop solutions in a fast-paced, changing environment.
•    You might have previous experience in user involvement strategies, participatory action research techniques, service design methods and/or similar, although this is not essential for applicants.

TRUSTEE (UNPAID VOLUNTEER)
Can you help shape the future of a charity that improves the lives of 26,000 members?
2021 is a great time to join Bristol Students’ Union as a Trustee. We are just implementing a new strategic cycle; preparing for a major new development (including a physical move to the heart of the Bristol campus) and are involved in a new campus at Temple Quarter.  You will be helping us actively address the most pressing issues facing students today including access to education, mental health, accommodation, race inequality, poverty, inclusivity, and internationalisation. 

We are looking for a strategic and committed Trustee with previous Board experience (or equivalent governance experience) to support the Students’ Union work; directing, shaping, and developing the organisation. You will help provide strategic, financial and governance oversight to help us achieve the vision of the Best Student Life.  

The role will be to contribute to a dynamic and growing organisation with a progressive management team, talented staff, and dedicated student officers.

Bristol SU is a registered charity, and a company limited by guarantee with a turnover of circa £4million, employing around 55 salaried staff as well as a team of student staff.  

If you have the time to commit and enjoy the idea of working with students then we are particularly interested in hearing from you, especially any applicants with any of the following experience:

•    C-suite levelled experience

Time Requirements: Currently up to 10 online Trustee Board meetings & 10 online Trustee Committee meetings PA (not all Trustees are needed) held on a weekday and last approximately 1.5 hours.  Ideally you would sit on at least 1 of the committee groups.  These meetings may change for 2021/22. It is expected that you will attend the Trustee Training and an annual Trustee Away Day (held in Oct). There are other events like the annual awards night in June, Welcome Fair in September where you are very much welcome and invited to attend.

Remuneration: Trustees are not remunerated but travel and other reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
