We’ve been nominated for the Enterprise Award at NUS Awards 2015 for our work in the student rental market in Bristol.

Bristol SU Lettings was opened in November 2013 following student feedback. We wanted to bring an end to high rents, complacent agencies and a market in which fees of more than £200 per person are commonplace.

What have we done?

  1. Saved students over £250,000 in agency fees
  2. Achieved a satisfaction rating of 92%
  3. Provided 3000 bed spaces across the city
  4. Put together a portfolio of over 500 properties
  5. Registered over 8500 student house hunters
  6. Becoming the top ranking agent in our core area on Rightmove and Google

What are we planning to do?

UBU Lettings has made improvements to students’ experiences renting in Bristol, but we’ve got much more planned for the future:

  • A Halls to Homes campaign to support new students in the early stages of house hunting
  • Continuing to drive the housing list release date later in the year so students aren’t pressured to house hunt before Christmas
  • Expanding to encompass an estate agency. We’ll help student or parent landlords invest in quality property and keep to our no fees stance.
  • A find a flatmate app to help solo house hunters.

The winner of the award will be announced at NUS Students’ Unions 2015 on Wednesday 8 July.
