The Anson Room’s comedy season is in full swing and continues with three widely renowned comedians of 2017. Before grabbing your tickets ready for a night full of belly-laughs, here’s a bit more of a lowdown on what to expect from these up and coming names in the British comedy scene:
Having only begun performing in 2014, Ed has since competed at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ contest and performed his debut slot at the 2016 Fringe.’ He’s come a long way in the comedy world in the past three years, proving himself as one of the most exciting rising stars of British comedy. Renowned for his ‘crafty intelligence’ and ‘ingenious visual gags, Ed Night is not one to be missed.
Known for her ‘no filter’ approach towards sex and society, Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2017 nominee, Kelly Convey, is a comedian to look out for. With her ‘face like butter wouldn’t melt’, Kelly is a ‘bright and filthy new star’ according to Kate Lennon of Funny Women. We don’t see why a bit of stand-up Kelly Convey and a beer in hand wouldn’t be a recipe for a scream.
Arguably the biggest name on the line-up, Impractical Jokers’ Paul McCaffrey will be gracing the Anson Rooms this Thursday. Having worked with some big names in the business, such as Russell Kane’s Whistle-Stop Tour on BBC Radio 2, The Morgana Show on Channel 4 and ITV’s That Sunday Show to name a few. Brace yourselves for a beautifully animated set of hilarious discomfort you’re sure not to forget.
