Last night JSoc shared a statement about antisemitism leading to intimidation of a student. We are deeply concerned by the points they have raised and stand in solidarity with our Jewish students. We will always support students who call for action against discrimination on our campus. Antisemitism is unacceptable.
We have spoken to senior members of university staff about this as a priority today and know that they have arranged a meeting with JSoc. We will also contact members of JSoc with details of where they can get support. We will continue to support JSoc by offering our officer support to the society and their members, and will attempt to facilitate further action and conversation between the society and the University's senior management.
We are committed to upholding the IHRA definition of Antisemitism and will continue to combat discrimination on campus.
If you would like to report any incidents of discrimination, you can do so through the University’s Report and Support tool.
