Ginny: Sport & Student Development Officer

Hi I’m Ginny and I am the Sport and Student Development officer at the SU. My role is to help sports clubs and all areas at the university which engage students in any form of physical activity. I am also responsible for helping students develop their skills outside of academic studies.

As a student at the university I studied zoology alongside being heavily involved in sport. When I came to Bristol I had no particular desire to play club sport let alone make it the focal point of my university career. However, after trying Women’s Rugby for the first time in Welcome Week in my first year I was hooked, by my second year I was club captain. In my third year I started to engage in the SU more and became a part time officer as the chair of the sport Network before running to become Sport and Student Development Officer.

I am so excited for this year, I am so proud of our sports clubs and everything they do and I can’t wait to showcase them as much as I can. I am particularly passionate about engaging more students in sport and physical activity at Bristol, so watch this space.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions or ideas by email or on Facebook.
