About Us

Art History Bristol is Bristol SU's newly reformed society for the discussion and exploration of the History of Art.

We are dedicated to embracing a study of art which revises the existing canon, with more equal access and inclusivity.  We believe that Art History should be for everyone and, as such, we welcome all students - regardless of their area of study and pre-existing art historical knowledge.

We have lots of exciting events planned to create safe and open spaces for the exploration of the world of art, and to provide opportunities for those with interests in careers in Art History to develop key skills and gain practical experience.  Keep an eye out on our social media and here on our webpage for more information on our upcoming events!

We hold fortnightly discussion groups on Zoom to share ideas on art within a variety of themes.  Keep an eye out on our social media for the theme of the next discussion group!

We will also be holding fortnightly socials (in weeks alternating with the discussion groups) - including quizzes, group viewings of online exhibitions and lots more!

Our Curators Scheme will also be running from December through to April.  This will give a group of students the opportunity to gain practical experience with a curatorial team and learn from industry professionals along the way.  Updates on this will be coming to our social media soon!
