Beat This Together (BTT) is a University of Bristol Society dedicated to raising awareness about eating disorders, weight stigma and body shaming. Our work involves campaigning, fundraising and educating students, staff and locals. We collaborate with other Beat societies from Universities across the U.K. to achieve a larger and more powerful impact.
We will have a great selection of different activities throughout the year to promote better mental health, positive body image, and increase the conversation around eating disorders alongside weight stigma. These will include educational talks, yoga and mindfulness sessions, and many others! We meet up regularly and create a real sense of community within our group - and the best part is that anyone can join!
So if you feel passionately about ending the war against eating disorders and weight stigma, if you want to get some volunteering experience or have some great fundraising ideas, or if you simply want to be part of a fun and active society, then consider joining our group - we would love to have you!
Beat This Together has adopted with the Bristol Body Confidence Society, and from 2020-2024, will be working with the SU and SEH to encourage body positive language and reduce weight stigma from our University sports services.
