BUST is your one stop society for all things sustainable here at the University of Bristol!

Our society was set up in 2008 with the aim of empowering students to tackle this issue within Bristol University and the wider community. Our group is dedicated to improving the sustainability and awareness of students and staff across the university, striving to become an ever more eco-friendly community. By joining BUST you will get the opportunity to learn more about sustainability, help make decisions, meet like-minded, passionate people and help make Bristol a more sustainable community.

This year, to encourage more people to be sustainable we have made our membership free! There’s no excuse not to sign up!

1. SUSTAINABLE SOCIALS: These socials range from regular mingle sessions to hands-on workshops. Previous year topics include general sustainability discussions to more-focused areas ranging from renewable energy, food waste, fast fashion and use of plastics. This year we will be working hard to deliver these online and hopefully also in person. They are great ways to meet like-minded people and learn more about sustainability.

2. COLLABORATION WITH OTHER SOCIETIES: We connect with other inspiring societies who share our principles and also wish to raise sustainability awareness. Look out on our social media for our upcoming events.

3. ACTIVISM AND VOLUNTEERING: In the past, we have attended Bristol Climate March, Support Fossil Free Bristol Uni campaign. This year we are working closely with the university's sustainability department to actively influence their decision making. We also share with our members any upcoming volunteering opportunities that might be of interest to you either during term time or in the summer.

1. Free and discounted entrance to our events across the whole academic year

2.  Discounts to our sustainability partners which include a wide range of shops in Bristol including smaller footprint, zero green and wild oats.

3. Have your voice heard with the right vote or run for the next year’s committee
