Do you want to be able to protect yourself against the predators that stalk the Downs, or the muggers that roam the dark alleys of Bristol?
If so, come learn Krav Maga, the world’s largest reality-based self defence system that has been battle tested by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) for over 70 years. It is the first pure Krav Maga university society in the country.
Krav Maga, meaning close fight or close combat, is the official hand to hand and self defence system of the IDF.
The Krav Maga system was created by Imi Lichtenfeld in the 1940’s for the IDF, as a result of witnessing Nazi gangs beating up Jews in Czechoslovakia. He realised that his background in wrestling and boxing was of little use in the face of this level of violence.
In 1948 the IDF approached Imi as they needed a simple and effective close quarter combat system that could be taught to an army in a very short period of time. Imi drew on his martial arts, military and street experience to create his unique programme of training.
Imi’s programme of Krav Maga proved so successful that it was taught to all IDF personnel, and later to over 500 Military Law Enforcement & Special Forces Units Internationally. Currently Krav Maga is the largest reality based self defence system in the world.
During the 70+ years since it’s inception, Krav Maga remains the longest standing military hand to hand combat system in the world . Its history and evolution make Krav Maga distinguished and unprecedented as a self defence method.
What really separates our society from others is the quality of our instructor.
Will Bayley is a Krav Maga instructor to NATO in Gloucester, Royal Gurkha Rifles and runs BKMA clubs in Swindon & Gloucester. He regular writes articles about violence on the Krav Maga Swindow website: www.kravmagaswindon.co.uk. He is martial artist with 18 years training experience and 10 years of teaching experience, as well as a qualified close protection officer. In January of 2017 the British Army paid him to fly out to Brunei and teach Krav Maga to the 1 Royal Gurkha Rifles.
With a background in Ninjutsu he came to Krav seeking realism and was attracted by the simplicity and ease of learning offered by Krav Maga, along with its focus on what works in the real world.
Will understands what it takes to defend yourself on the street, balancing this with a welcoming, inclusive teaching style where everyone can find a place to learn and challenge their fears and limitations.
Will has experience coaching people of all abilities and has an outstanding reputation as an instructor totally committed to the development of his students. His students include both serving and former members of the armed forces, police force, and high profile celebrities.
Expect to learn simple, easy to understand defences against common assault, chokes, grabs and much more.
