Whether you are looking for a casual, social sport or the opportunity to compete at a top university level, this club has something to offer you. Both Men’s and Mixed welcome absolutely everyone from complete beginners to seasoned internationals.
The club also has a lively social scene with weekly socials and a legendary annual tour giving you the chance to play hard on and off the field!
Mixed lacrosse aims to widen participation in the game by providing a relaxed and fun atmosphere for people to try the sport, or carry on playing it at a less serious level, whilst providing competition for those who want it.
Training is twice weekly on the Downs from 2-4pm and we organise friendly matches against other universities throughout the year, which are a fantastic day out. Socialising is a big part of our club and we are proud to be one of the friendliest sports clubs at the university, you will find it impossible not to make friends here!
For those with more of a competitive streak, the 2015-2016 season saw the development of our Performance Squad who compete at mixed tournaments throughout the year. The performance squad train for an extra hour after each session, and next year we are looking to have professional coaches in every other week at the Coombe Dingle Sports Complex or in the sports hall for those wanting to take lacrosse further.
If you’re interested in joining, then come along to one our sessions and give it a go!
The men’s lacrosse club is the highest performing men’s club at the university, with the 1st team contributing the most BUCS points out of any single team. The 1st team compete in BUCS Premier South division which they won undefeated last season (16-17). The 2nd team compete in Western 2 and this year reached the final of Conference Cup for the 5rd year in a row, narrowly missing out by a goal.
We're excited to announce that for the 17-18 season we will be entering a 3rd team into BUCS for the first time in the clubs history. This is a perfect opportunity for people to get involved with Men's lacrosse on a more casual basis and we're really excited to see how the 3s fair in their first season.
The university team has strong links with Bristol Bombers lacrosse club, whose 1st team compete at the highest level in the country in the SEMLA Premiership, with the 2nd team playing in the Western 1 division. Our senior university players play with Bombers every week, to allow them to develop at the highest level in the premiership.
Come along to a practice on Tuesdays from 5:15-6:30 at Coombe Dingle or contact one of our captains for more information. New players will be provided with kit in their first year.
