Pitstop is an award-winning society focused on taking teenagers with learning disabilities on day trips in and around the Bristol area.
In the last few years, we have organised some amazing trips - taking us to Bristol Zoo, the Bristol Hippodrome, Cribbs Causway, the Aquarium, and even Chessington World of Adventures. There’s a huge emphasis on fun and new experiences, so if you have energy and enthusiasm then join our mailing list using the link below and we will be in touch with future opportunities and plans!
Pitstop buddies you up with one of the teenagers for the day. It gives you the chance to make a real difference to a young person’s life, and improve your communication and care skills. Becoming a member is very low commitment, and just requires you to attend as many of the 4-5 trips a year as you would lie. Usually once members have come once, they always come back to volunteer on more of our trips! No previous experience is required, just be prepared to have a great time!
As with pretty much every aspect of life, COVID-19 is likely to alter the running of Pitstop trips in the coming months. Due to this, we are going to be closely monitoring the situation for the trips, whilst still keeping the young people and volunteers engaged, particularly through social media and communication. We are still keen to invole as manyy volunteers and members as possible so please feel free to contact us through Facebook or email whenever! As details of this year's trips are uncertain currently, we have included the list of trips organised for last year as an idea of the fun to come when more activities become possible again ...
