Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid is an educational course which teaches people how to identify, understand and help a person who may be developing a mental health issue. In the same way as we learn physical first aid, Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to recognise those crucial warning signs of mental ill health.
Our courses are accredited by Mental Health First Aid England.
Please ensure you complete the forms at the end of the training.

Student Counselling Workshops
The Workshop Programme is designed to give students an opportunity to get together and interact with each other in furthering their own and others' understanding of specific topics. Through small group discussions and individual and group exercises you will have the opportunity to share experiences, as well as to learn and practice new skills. Different workshops are offered each term. Find details and book on here.
One of our key purposes is to offer students a wide variety of careers and employability events. These range from short talks that cover the basics on employability through to interactive workshops, such as mock assessment centres and opportunities to practice and prepare for interview. Find further details and book on here.
Students can get recognition for attending extra-curricular courses and workshops, as well as a variety of other Student Union activities through the Bristol PLUS award, run by the Careers Service. The Award provides a framework for students to reflect on the skills they have gained and learn how to articulate them effectively to future employers. For more details and learn how the PLUS Award could benefit you please see our website.
