Getting your group online

Sine the UK Government banned social gatherings in March 2020, we know some of you have been finding it difficult to connect with your members. But staying socially isolated doesn’t mean you have to cancel all of your group’s social plans. You just need to adjust them a bit.

There are many different platforms you can use to communicate with your members online. They’re all slightly different with different features, and most importantly, different levels of security and privacy.

Staying connected with your members is important for a number of reasons:

  • It helps the group keep an active membership (which means more members next year!)
  • You can help combat social isolation / loneliness amongst your membership
  • You can learn new skills that can be carried on into the future

If you’ve got a webcam and an internet connection, you can still host family dinners, pub quizzes, game nights, karaoke sessions and more. We're currently working on a series of guides that will hopefully provide some technical advice for ways to get set up and share your screen — and then some ideas for what to do. We’ll be covering:
