Cabot Scouts is based in the North West area of the City of Bristol and is part of the World Wide Movement of Scouting, with over 113 years of volunteer support in supporting young people to meet their full potential. We have some 20 thriving Scout Groups in the area and a number of volunteer opportunities; working face to face/ virtual scouting with young people ( aged 6-25), in activity specialist roles, eg. archery, climbing, kayaking etc. and support roles as trustees, interview panel members, project support.
If you are a young person, under the age of 25, then you may wish to join scouting for yourself and or support others.
This volunteer role directly supports local scouting as a non-uniformed member of an interview panel. You will have good interpersonal skills and enjoy being part of a small team, who meet and approve other volunteers as they join scouting. Your role, with the other panel members, is to verify that interviewees have suitable personal values and skills to join scouting. The panel meets (face to face and currently virtually) approximately once per month, mostly in the evenings ( days of the week vary according to availability). Scouting knowledge is not essential; there is minimal essential on-line training for the role and individual support for the successful candidate to become a member of the team. If you enjoy meeting people and giving back to the community, we look forward to hearing from you.
