Bristol Disability Equality Forum is a Disabled People's led organisation that works to make Bristol a more accessible and fairer place for Disabled People. WE are looking for Disabled People who would like to volunteer with us for either a few hours a week or month. We are launching a new project to support people who feel intimidated by disabiity assessments. We need volunteers who can accompany people to assessments to give moral support as some people feel very scared of these meetings and what will happen in them. The purpose of the service is to offer moral support and information, not to offer advice.
We offer all reasonable expenses paid, training, supervision and refreshments.
Our Roll and Stroll walk programme has begun, helping Disabled people in Bristol to go for walks on foot or in their wheelchairs.
We need walk leaders who are able to help with walk organization, including: planning walks, health and safety checks and supporting attendees.
You don't need any experience, but being a keen walker is a plus.
This is a really lovely way to get to know Bristol and meet new friends.
Minimum commitment level: Once a week
Start Date: 16-07-2021
