See Change has one vision - A just society where socially excluded people are supported and empowered to build sustainable, independent lives.
We provide a range of services including supported housing, refuges, hostels and one to one support across Bristol and the South West for people who have experienced homelessness, domestic abuse, addiction, prison, refugee status, Autism and Aspergers and other life experiences.
We also have a Bike Workshop social enterprise where our clients can get support back into a work environment and build their own bike to take away. Here we renovate donated bikes, so it is eco friendly as well as helping our clients.
At least 3 out of 4 people we help create a lasting independent life for themselves. What we do works.
We are often saving lives as well as helping people improve their lives.
Come along to Bristol Harbourside and help out with light tasks such as showing people where to go, overseeing the people attending etc.
This event is organised by See Change with a professional Dragon Boat Events company so they run all of the event side - we just need to oversee the general spectator attendance.
You can help signing people onto their team sheets if you'd like to.
The teams of up to 17 people - 16 rowers and a drummer - will race against each other in heats across the day - up to 250 metre heats. Then at the end of the day there will be a grand finale!
The teams will each have a fun activity in their marquees along the harbourside - so there will be lots going on!
The event set up will be from 8am and cleared away by around 6pm. So you can volunteer for 2+ hours within these times. If you want to stay all day we will give you lots of breaks and free food and drinks!
And you can stop off at the Cottage Inn right on the harbour after your volunteering!
