Empowered Lives is a new charity in Bristol supporting survivors of Domestic Abuse and Violence. Our aims are to support these survivors through pattern changing, building support networks and advocacy. During the COVID0-19 pandemic, the risk for individuals has increased, and so the charity is wokring on creating virtual support packages.
This is a great opportunity to give back to the community, to support the most vulnerable, and to build your own skills. The charity will provide meaningful working opportunities to support your personal and professional development, and will work with you on building this into your CV.
We encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds and are proud to be inclusive.
This role would be a great fit for somebody seeking a role in teaching, HR or learning and development, as well as providing opportunities to build transferrable skills around communication, stakeholder management and support. Empowered Lives Bristol delivers Pattern Changing Courses for survivors of Domestic Violence, which help people to gain the skills and confidence to recognise unhealthy situations and change behaviours. They also provide the space to build a support network for these individuals who may have been isolated. This is critical to our work as a charity, and this role will provide central support in this space. As a fairly new charity, there will be an opportunity to influence the future direction of support and build on the learning and development offered. There will also be an opportunity to shape your own role and prioritise what interests you.
If you have experience in psychological safety, working with vulnerable people or counselling, that would be a bonus.
-Supporting with the creation of course content and design, considering the best ways to engage groups virtually
-Helping to facilitate learning sessions and building experience in content delivery
-Work on the future learning and delivery strategy
-Broader awareness raising and fundraising opportunities will also be available.
