The Matthew Tree Project, established in July 2010, aims to improve opportunities and futures of the disadvantaged and most vulnerable families and individuals living in some of the most deprived communities of the UK, by delivering the ‘Rebuilding Lives’ holistic, whole family, long-term engagement programme that can create sustainable, lasting change.

The ‘Rebuilding Lives’ programme - created, pioneered and established by The Matthew Tree Project in Bristol UK - addresses these multiple and complex needs in a systemic, holistic way whilst offering fully integrated client navigation, throughout the process, with partner organisations.
How We Do it
We intervene early, before it is too late, and prevent families and people from becoming homeless. Common sense tells us that if someone is struggling to pay their mortgage or rent then they will have little or no disposable income. Food comes out of disposable income so if there is none, chances are there will be no food.
Operating from strategic locations across the city, the ‘Rebuilding Lives’ programme is a collaboration of like-minded and complimentary service delivery organisations, led by The Matthew Tree Project, providing a ‘full wrap around’ range of essential support services expertly join-up and made available in a holistic and tailored way – to match each client’s ability to engage with the support they need.
Annually, by the end of 2018 over 1000 of Bristol’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged citizens (46% of which are families), were benefiting from the service.
Underpinning all service delivery operations, The Matthew Tree Project have a fully-equipped, and fit-for-purpose city-wide food logistics and distribution operation in Bristol, and operate the UK’s first professionally adapted Mobile FoodStore with which we will rescue and redistribute circa. 100 tonnes of [good] food in 2019.
You will work as part of a team of volunteers, putting together a week's supply of food for our clients at the support session in Cadbury Heath. The role involves helping on our Mobile Food Store and putting together food parcels including fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and dairy, fresh bread along with ambient and non-perishable items. The food parcels also align with individual preferences and any dietary requirements of our clients. The support sessions ensure that we can get the food we receive in donations out to those who need it.
