PROJECT WalktoTalk Bristol VOLUNTEER

Circuit walk of Bristol starting/finishing at College Green and taking participants on a tour of the city including Ashton Court, Clifton Suspension Bridge, Clifton Down, Wills Memorial Building and Gloucester Road. We are really keen for volunteers to engage with the participants and to initiate conversations surrounding mental health.

 

There will be 2 routes in operation – the 13.3 miles full route and a 6 mile short route.

 

Participants and volunteers will be provided with full route details and are encouraged to navigate themselves around the course. 

 

Volunteer shifts

1) 08:00 am – 17:00 pm (full day)

2) 10:00am – 19:00 pm (fully day)

3) 11:15 am – 16:00 pm (half day)

 

Volunteers are expected to attend a 45 minute pre-event brief covering health and safety and key event details as well as attending a short safety brief on the day. Volunteer roles will also be assigned before the day, some volunteers will be assisting the Event Mangers and Checkpoint Managers so will not have a specific assigned location. Volunteers will be rotated around the checkpoints throughout the day.

 

Lunch break: all volunteers working the full-day shift will be given a 30 minute lunch break, those working a Half-day shift volunteers will be given a 15 minute break.

Being friendly and approachable Assist with event setup/take down Registration of participants Supporting the participants around the routes and acting as a point of contact (aid crowd control if needed). Assist with running of activities at College Green and checkpoints. Any other jobs that may arise on the day
