Become a leader in social and environmental change at the University of Bristol.

Who are we?

Bristol Hub is a charity that works in partnership with the Univerisity of Bristol and the Student Union to support students to tackle social challenges, learn about issues and connect with each other. We do this by offering practical volunteering, skilled placements, one-off volunteering opportunities and project incubation support.

Bristol Hub believes that students have the power and potential to shape a better world, and being on our committees are a chance to be a student leader for the causes you care about. We are a student-led charity and our students guide what we do and take lead on the projects we run. We have a range of positions available in either our executive committee or one of our project committees. The committees are explained below.

We are launching a brand new programme which is still in the development stage. Bristol Hub and Southampton Hub are working together to create and pilot a series of workshops for 9-11 year olds aiming to introduce them to UK political processes, teach them about their rights, and inspire them to make change in their local communities. As a committee member you’ll support us to develop, promote and deliver the workshops. This is a great role for someone passionate, innovative and determined to make change.

We’re looking for one to two individuals that are passionate about politics, civil education and innovation to fill the following roles:

  • Political Education Coordinator

You can read the role descriptions here

---

How will you benefit?

Being a part of the committee gives you access to a range of unique opportunities including:

  • Experience in fundraising, publicity and events management - key skills for a career in the third sector and transferable skills for any job.
  • An opportunity to have significant responsibility and develop leadership skills
  • Access to professional training and tailored support from the Hub staff team
  • Optional personal development plans
  • Insight into the working of a third sector organisation
  • The chance to make a practical difference to the local community in the causes you really care about

Don’t worry if you feel like you don’t have the experience, we are keen to hear from self-starters and enthusiastic individuals. We are particularly interested in hearing from existing volunteers or students that have engaged with Bristol Hub before, but this is not essential.

Good luck applying - we look forward to welcoming you to our team!
