Volunteer mentors for older boys (age 12-16)

Are you able to volunteer an hour or two per week to make a difference?

Are you able to talk to young people and motivate them to work hard?

Can you help them with their homework?  Talk to them about post-16 choices?  Encourage them to get involved in outside activities?  Support them to make positive choices?

Orchard School in Horfield is looking for people willing to volunteer a small amount of time to make a huge amount of difference. This is most likely to be between 2 and 4pm on a regular school day.

Some of our students need help finding direction in their lives.  Many of them lack adult role models, especially male role models.  Many of them are from ethnic minority families and want to talk to someone "like me" who has been successful through school and can see a positive future ahead.

We would really appreciate your support - and can support you to start to create a positive relationship with an individual student.  This is fantastic evidence for your CV of working with disadvantaged young people and giving back to the community.  Thank you for considering this.
