What we’re looking for

Young volunteers to play an important role in sharing our fundraising, volunteering and campaign messages within your friendship network and local communities so together we can keep children safe. .

What you’ll do

You will be an advocate for all the work the NSPCC is doing and play a key role in supporting the growth and development of volunteering and fundraising within the South West. You’ll help us reach and engage with young people in your community through a range of means such as; social media, introductions, meetings and events so your local relationships will be central to this role.

 

As a Community Advocate, you’ll work closely with your regional NSPCC contact to receive regular and timely updates on what’s happening at the NSPCC so you feel confident in promoting our work.

 

This role offers the opportunity to build your personal skills and raise your profile in your community. It is flexible, you only need to commit to a couple of hours a month, but can do more if you would like to.

 

What youll get

We’ll support you with advice, skills and tools to help you spread the word about the NSPCC. You’ll learn more about how you’re helping to protect children in your local area and across the UK. You’ll use your existing local knowledge and contacts to help guide us on how best to inspire others to take action for NSPCC in your community.

You will get the opportunity to meet and work with other volunteers and staff, relying on your skills as a community advocate to make an impact in your area.

It’s also a chance to spend time with like-minded people and make new friends.

 

Who’s right for the role?

We are particularly looking for those who are active within their region and have the following qualities and experience:

  • passionate about helping young people and children
  • comfortable talking about the NSPCC’s work
  • great communication and leadership skills
  • enthusiastic and personable
  • enjoys building relationships
  • a strong desire to connect NSPCC with local communities
