Trad Course

Trad climbing is a fun and exhilarating discipline of climbing, where you climb without any fixed gear, placing your own protection into cracks as you move up the wall.

The weekend consists of two full days of hands-on trad climbing teaching with professional mountain guide Ed from Head on Out.

Covering all essential trad skills: placing and assessing gear, belaying with half ropes, building trad anchors, belaying a second, safe progression + assessing risk. Location tbc but likely to use Goblin Combe for at least one of the days.

Experience required: competent lead climber, able to safely lead belay, some outdoor climbing experience would be beneficial but not required. Will be able to borrow any club gear needed. You can borrow any club gear that you need.

We will meet at the Richmond building in the morning each day and come back in the afternoon/evening, exact timings TBC.
