There are many different forms of meditation that have been practised for centuries by different religious and non-religious traditions. At the Buddhist Society, we believe that the practice of meditation is the key ingredient to awakening one's inner nature, compassion and wisdom. This session is intended to help beginners and people with more experience to learn and develop their understanding of mindfulness and incorporate it into their daily lives. The benefits of meditation are too numerous for us to list, but here are a few perks for your wellness, mind and body: Reduces anxiety Boosts positivity Enhances self-awareness Prolongs focus Improves sleep As a society, we aim to inspire students to practice meditation for health and well-being benefits; create a safe and harmonious social environment, where students can enjoy discussing the meditations; allow discussion of spiritual beliefs from a variety of cultures, encouraging students to live a life with deeper meaning. We welcome EVERYONE regardless of cultural or religious background to come and find out a bit more about Buddhism and learn/practice meditation.
