Sport With(out) Barriers: In Conversation with Anita Asante

Join us as we talk to former Lioness and first-team coach at Bristol City, Anita Asante, for this very special event discussing her journey as a professional athlete, and the barriers she had to overcome along the way. This event aims to open up conversations of racism in sport, and the additional struggles women and LGBTQ+ people face within sport today following the She Can, They Can campaign.

This event will be hosted by the Sport & Student Development Officer in collaboration with the Black Students' Network.

About Anita Asante

Anita Asante had a professional career playing for both Chelsea Women and Arsenal Women and obtained 71 caps for the Lionesses. Following her professional retirement in 2022, she is now the first-team coach at Bristol City and an activist for equality in sport, being an ambassador for Show Racism the Red Card.

This event is free and open to all students. Get your tickets now to secure your place.
