Since returning to the UK, Conal has worked extensively with Welsh National Opera and BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales. He has also acted as guest chorus master for the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra’s performance of Beethoven 9 and as guest conductor for the world renowned, Cory Brass Band. Conal has also been invited to performance privately for King Charles and Dame Shirley Bassey. With a particular interest in contemporary repertoire, Conal has performed as a soloist in Richard Rodney Bennett’s Party Piece, Shostakovich’s 1st Piano Concerto, and multiple performances of Edward Gregson’s Concertante for Piano and Brass Band, with Dr Robert Child’s and Ian Porthouse – including the Welsh Premiere.

Conal regularly teaches at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff University, and the Wales Academy of Voice and Dramatic Arts - where he also works on the Musical Theatre courses. Conal was the rehearsal accompanist for the UK Tour of Beauty and the Beast, and later this year will begin teaching on the esteemed musical theatre course at ArtsEd in London, as well as conducting Me and My Girl at the Bristol Hippodrome.
