Bristol Revunions: Comedy Society

  • Revunions

Description

We are the Bristol Revunions, the society dedicated to all things comedy with a focus on sketch and stand-up comedy! We encourage people to get involved in performing and writing comedy in a friendly, welcoming environment.

We hold free, weekly workshops in-person in the SU (Monday 6-8pm in Anson Room 2). These are a really relaxed, fun way for everyone – regardless of any previous sketch-making experience – to get together, play a few silly games, and try to write some sketches. There’s no pressure to perform and the focus is on enjoying yourself rather than being funny, have no fear!

Historically we have put on a wide variety of shows over the year in Bristol and we aim to do the same this year, so there are loads of opportunities to get involved. These range from regular ‘scratch nights’ where we perform newly written sketches to bigger, more polished productions in the SU, including... We also have a dedicated show called ‘LaughBox’ which invites new and experienced stand-ups to try out new and different material or simply try stand-up for the first time! On top of all of this we also put on shows in Leeds, Cambridge and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival!

Whether you want to write, perform, learn how to tech, try stand-up, or even try a bit of everything, we encourage people to take part by coming along to workshops, shows and socials! Anyone and everyone can get involved with these, either by writing sketches or performing – or both, why not!

Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to keep up to date with the latest news on upcoming workshops, events and shows.

Message us on Instagram or email us at revunions@gmail.com if you are interested in joining or if you have any questions about us or the Bristol comedy scene.

Our yearly membership costs only £3 and allows you to perform with us, as well as discounted tickets to shows and a few extra special workshops throughout the year!

If you want to give us a try then come along to our Give it a Go! sessions on Monday 2nd October. We can't wait to see you there!
