Hayling Island Weekend Trip

Hayling Island Weekend!

On Friday 21st November, after uni, we will head down to the home of windsurfing, Hayling Island. In 1958, windsurfing was invented on the beaches of Hayling Island and the windsurf scene there has lived on since. We will return on Sunday evening to Bristol better windsurfers than when we left.

This trip will be similar to the recent Cardiff core event. There will be two days of coaching for beginners, improvers, and intermediates, as well as the opportunity for advanced windsurfers to showcase their skills. Also, wingsurf and wingfoil coaching will be available too. All good weekends away need socials. On Friday night, there will be a wholesome dinner and a pub trip and on Saturday, we will venture into Portsmouth for Oh-la-la Saturday at the Astoria.

Members will be staying in the houses of committee members nearby, and each day we will make the quick trip to some world-class windsurf locations on the south coast. These include Hayling Island locations: seafront, Sandy Point and Esso; other locations such as Emsworth Harbour or the famous Portsmouth Speed Strip are perfect for beginners and improvers.

This will be a great opportunity to improve your windsurfing and have a first go at windsurfing on the sea!
