Description

⚠️ VERY IMPORTANT ⚠️

Once you have joined the society, follow our Instagram at @nothingbeatsbristol to find out about upcoming events, socials and plans for members of the society. If you shoot us a message there we can also add you to our members only WhatsApp group so you can connect with the other members of the society.

What we do:

Our aim is to provide a social group and helpful advice for students who are interested in DJing or producing music, regardless of experience.

If you're new to mixing or production, we can help you get to grips with the basics including the software and gear you can use. Or if you've been doing this for years, the DJ society can help link you with other DJs & promoters, and help you become an active member of Bristol's music scene.

We're a friendly group of DJs whose interests span various genres, so whether you're a old-school disco lover, techno fiend, jungle enthusiast or hip-hop head, the DJ Society has something for you!

What we offer:

  • Free weekly beginner lessons at the SU (Anson Rooms), Tuesdays 6-8pm during term time
  • Heavily subsidised weekly practice sessions on club CDJs at Basement 45 (£2 for members), Wednesdays 6-8pm (starting from Oct 28th 2022)
  • Regular society socials, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic
  • Members-exclusive 10% off at the Bop DJ shop in Bristol
  • Opportunities to play at local club nights & studios, including Burst Radio & Goat Shed Studios
  • The chance to feature your recorded mixes via the society's promotional brand, Nothing Beats
  • Society-owned Pioneer DDJ-400 controllers and other equipment available on loan (for free), to practice your skills at home
  • Chances for more advanced DJs to rep Nothing Beats and play at more established club nights, taking advantage of DJSoc's links with the Bristol scene Previous nights include Dazed, Cirque Du Soul, SlamJam, and we have upcoming nights at Motion, SWX and Full Moon Bristol.
