Engineers Without Borders UK will be hosting a 120 minute workshop to celebrate all that the University of Bristol EWB Chapter has achieved over the past two decades, and to explore together what positive impact the Chapter and those involved might create in the future.
This session will be fun, interactive and a celebration. It will also offer skills-based activities that help you to think about the future, and learn about being an advocate for change.
This session is free to attend for all, engineers or not. Join us if you are interested in creating positive change in energy, manufacturing, construction, our built environment, our cities, and our future!
The session will be run by staff from Engineers Without Borders UK Emma Crichton (alumni of Civil Engineering at the University of Bristol) and Jacob Samuels in collaboration with the University of Bristol Chapter.
Join us at Room 1.11 in the Merchant Venturers Building to:
Share stories about the Chapter and Chapter alumni (those involved in the past), and what positive impact they have created.
Receive tips and tricks on how you can become an advocate for change.
Explore what globally responsible engineering might look like in practice. Share your thoughts, perspectives, ideas and dreams on how engineering might evolve in response to our climate crisis and other 21st-century challenges.
During the session, we will introduce you to a model of how to think about the future. The Three Horizons model, created by Bill Sharpe, is a model that helps to share varied perspectives and map the changes you want to see.
We hope you will leave the session motivated and with a sense of accomplishment for the past two decades and an understanding of how we can bring about radical and meaningful change.
