The Ethics of Assisted Dying: Capacity & Dementia

Professor Julian C. Hughes is an honorary Professor of Old Age Psychiatry at the University of Bristol and a leading figure in the ethics of ageing, dementia, and end-of-life care. A former consultant psychiatrist and Deputy Chair of the Nuffield Council on Bioethics, he has advised national bodies including the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. He is the co-author of The Reality of Assisted Dying and has written widely on dementia, decision-making, and the ethical questions surrounding capacity and assisted dying.

📍  Room 3.31 Coutts is in the Wills Memorial Building. From the main entrance (Estates Assistant’s Office on the left) take the stairs or lift to the third floor. Turn right and follow the corridor. Room 3.31 Coutts is on the left.

Since this event is after 5 PM, please enter the building through the door to the left of the main entrance. This is only accessible by UCard, so remember to walk with yours!
