UOB Calisthenics: Give it a Go!

Hello! We are excited to host our second ever UOB Calisthenics Give it a Go session and we can't wait to meet all of you there! In case you're still unsure as to what calisthenics actually is, it involves any exercise that only uses your bodyweight. This includes the classic pull ups and push ups and progresses all the way to handstand push ups and moves you may never have heard of such as planche, front lever and human flag. We'd like to emphasise that our club is open to all skill levels and for all goals, whether you'd just like to start getting into bodyweight fitness, you want to learn a handstand, you want to improve your grip strength for climbing or you'd like to join a community of like minded fitness enthusiasts. Be prepared for a fast-paced session fuelled with music and fun challenges to showcase the huge variety of movements that fall under the "Calisthenics" umbrella, so make sure to bring a sporty and breathable clothes as the first session will be held indoors. We are planning to host a second Give it a Go in the outdoor Calisthenics park at the bottom of Brandon Hill park. We are going to set up a pull up bar, tricep dip bars along with resistance bands and other equipment to make sure that we have exercises for all skill levels but the minimal equipment required really enhances the elegance of Calisthenics. Just make sure you bring a water bottle. We will be holding the session in the Anson rooms AR6 in the Bristol SU Richmond Building - look out for the massive room with glass wall just as you climb the staircase to the first floor. Once again, myself, Arik (president), Toby (Vice president) and the rest of our team can't wait to meet all new recruits and give a warm welcome back to returners!
