Calisthenics is a form of exercise that involves uses only your bodyweight, aiming is to defy gravity!
We're on a mission to impart both beginner and advanced calisthenics moves, ensuring that anyone – whether you're a seasoned pro or just curious – can achieve feats of superhuman strength. All you need is a pull up bar. Our doors are wide open to everyone, reflecting our belief in the power of mutual learning and the goal of elevating calisthenics to the status of an officially recognised sport.
There is nothing more electrifying than unlocking a new move in calisthenics. What's truly exceptional about the sport is its adaptability – you can conquer it in the park, your cozy flat, or an open field. There is endless opportunity for progressive overloading from additional weight vests to an ever-advancing library of dynamic and static skills. So while we eagerly anticipate your participation in our sessions, the flexibility of calisthenics empowers you to enhance your skills whenever and wherever you choose.

We aim to ground ourselves as the go-to society for bodyweight training, with sessions for beginner, intermediate and advanced athletes. Our aim is to train in a chill and social manner, focussing on meaningful workouts and clear progressions for any skill and experience level. We take a fun-first approach to our sessions, prioritising enjoyment in training.
We run two types of sessions - indoor and outdoors. Our indoor sessions are more beginner-oriented, focussing on floor and some bar work, with portable bars and gym mats. Our outdoor sessions are hosted at the Brandon Hill bars, an outdoor gym with multiple bars and other equipment. We cover exercises for all skill levels at these sessions, primarily focussing on progressions for the more advanced skills. Regardless of your level, every session will be tailored for a rewarding workout!
In our sessions we will teach all the fundamental skills, including push-ups, pull-ups and handstands. As well as hundreds of variations of these exercises, we will be training more intermediate-level moves such as front levers, back levers, planche, muscle-ups, one-arm pushups and even more outdoors during the week. Alongside this skill-based training, we will also train our muscles in ab workouts, chest workouts, shoulder workouts and much more!
We are very excited to meet all students throughout the year at these sessions. We are very welcoming of members all the way through the year and always want to meet new people to do calisthenics with, whether it's our first session of the year or our last. We hope to see you soon :)

Our indoor sessions take place on Sundays, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at the Anson Rooms (AR5) in the Richmond (Student Union) Building:

Our outdoor sessions take place on Wednesdays & Fridays from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM (subject to weather), at the Brandon Hill Outdoor Gym:

Our membership for the full year is just £13.50. This membership gives you access to our indoor training sessions and discounted/ free admissions to socials and formals. We often run mini member-only competitions with prizes available, and becoming a member allows you to vote and/or run for next years committee!
As our outdoor sessions take place at a public park, we do not charge for these sessions. Getting a membership is still advised, as our sessions are tailored for members - we can monitor and track progress effectively, provide personalised advice and you can win prizes in our member-only games.
