Hola bailarin@s!

Welcome to the University of Bristol Salsa Society! We are a GOLD Balloon Accredited Society and we are super excited to share Latin American dance with you! Along with our passionate teachers, we teach regular Salsa and Bachata classes and have weekend socials twice a month so you can explore other Latin American dance styles and practice your social dancing skills.

We think our society is amazing, inclusive, fun, and just one of a kind! But you don't have to take our word for it, take a look at what our members say:

Our performance teams are a fun opportunity to take your dancing to the next level and learn a choreography to perform at the Salsa Ball and at other awesome events!

Equality, Inclusion and Wellbeing

Our welfare team is always available if you need to talk (with a dedicated, confidential email address: ubsalsawellbeing@gmail.com) and are in charge of our wonderful Salsa Family scheme.

Salsa and bachata are partnered dances so the steps vary depending on whether you choose to lead or follow.

We are committed to using gender-neutral language when referring to ‘leads’ and ‘follows’ in dancing. Who says only men can lead and women can follow?

When you are a beginner it can be confusing learning both roles so we’d recommend choosing whether you’d like to start leading or following to avoid confusing the steps and once you feel more comfortable try to learn both!
