This action-packed day of sport is led by Ella Lovibond, your Sport and Student Development Officer, and promises an unforgettable celebration of competition, team spirit, and community!
But what can you expect on the day? We sat down with Ella to answer some key questions.
"This is a day full of sport, excitement, and high-level competition. Whether you're spectating or taking part, there’s so much to enjoy. Expect live matches in every direction, an electric atmosphere, and plenty of ways to get involved!"
"There are going to be 9 different Universities joining us at Coombe, hense the name Derby Day! The opponents have been selected by the teams and will compete across 30 different sports!"

"Derby Day gives student athletes the chance to showcase their talent and compete at a high level, while also bringing clubs together in a unique festival of sport. It’s about competition, but it’s also about celebrating everything that makes university sport so special."
"Its kinda like the Olympics but at University!"
"I play for Bristol Bears, so I’m especially excited to see the women’s rugby team play! There are some incredible matchups across the day – it’s going to be super competitive, but also a lot of fun."

"It’s rare to have this many high-level fixtures happening all at once, so it’s an amazing chance to experience university sport at its best. The spectator experience is fantastic – you can move between matches, grab some food, a beer, and soak up the atmosphere. There’s even a student group stage, photobooth and DJ at The Hub for even more entertainment!"
"Also, there's an official afterparty with Fishies in the evening on the Triangle!"
