
It’s the ultimate day for sport at Bristol Uni. Derby Day features 30 sports, 79 fixtures and over 1600 athletes from 9 universities!
The day event will be packed with thrilling competition, cheap drinks, street food and music, finishing with the Derby Day Afterparty at Fishies on The Triangle.

Coombe Dingle will be the heart of the action on Derby Day!
Expect live matches in every direction you look, from Rugby to Hockey, Lacrosse and so much more! Spectators can also enjoy matchside snacks from the coffee and food stands.
Throughout the day, join the DJ in the Hub, where you can grab a beer at the bar or post-match teas. We will also be hosting combat sports on the stage alongside a schedule of performances from our student groups 🥊
Fixtures will also take place at other venues, such as sailing and squash. Fancy catching the action closer to campus? Then the indoor sports centre is your place, where you can enjoy a bit of velleyball, basketball and more. When you're done, head on up to Coombe for the last games of the day!

Derby Day is Bristol SU’s free festival of sport where athletes and supporters come together to celebrate the end of the winter season!
Throughout the day, 30 Bristol sport teams will face their biggest rivals from their chosen university. For competitors and spectators alike, this day will showcase the very best of the Bristol sporting community on an action-packed day which extends late into the night!
There is no ticket for entry, it's free!
There will be venue-specific sports happening at other locations across the city, including the Indoor Sports Centre on Tyndall Avenue. Here we will have fixtures from Volleyball, Korfball, Futsal, Fencing, Basketball and Netball. After the game, grab a free bus from outside the sports centre up to Coombe! Check the fixture table above for location information before you travel!
Free buses will run regularly from Tyndall Avenue for both spectators and athletes, making it easy for everyone to get involved 🚍
Limited parking is available at the site if you are making your own way to the action. There are also safe cycle routes along Parry’s Lane.
Spectator food and refreshments are available throughout the day! This will include a range of things like coffee, hot dogs, chips, ice cream and more!
You cannot bring your own alcohol, but alcohol will be available to purchase at The Hub at Coombe Dingle. The discounted bar is on site 12.00-21.45 (last service at 21.30). Any alcohol you bring to the venue will be confiscated & disposed of due to licensing laws.
Yes, there is a prayer room on site - upstairs in main pavilion. Please speak to the team in the Main Reception for access.
