Free Buses to Coombe Dingle Sports Complex

Wednesday 19-10-2022 - 09:36

An update from your Sport and Development Officer, Lucy:

“A big win for the SU and Sports Clubs! I am delighted to be able to deliver on a bus to and from Coombe Dingle for both players and spectators of the Wednesday Games. It has been an aim for different Sport and Student Development Officers for a long time but now we can ensure that our students are getting to and from fixtures for free ensuring that ultimately their safety is prioritised.”

This means there will now be a FREE shuttle bus throughout the day to Coombe Dingle Sports Complex every Wednesday!

Now, whether you’re playing or spectating, student or staff, you’ll be able to get to all our BUCS Wednesday home fixtures.

Key Information:

  • The bus timetable can be found here.
  • The service is exclusively for University of Bristol students and staff.
  • The only pick up/ drop off points are on Tyndall Avenue and Coombe Dingle Sports Complex. The coach driver will not be able to pick up/ drop off passengers outside of these two points.
  • Please note that spaces are limited to 53 seats per bus.
  • In line with our BUCS travel behaviour policy, alcohol is prohibited on these buses at all times.

FAQs:

Do I have to be playing in a University fixture to use the bus?

No – it’s free at point of use, for all students.

Do I have to pay to take the bus?

No – it’s for all players, coaches and spectators of University of Bristol sports teams.

Can I take my sports equipment on board?

Yes – we do not expect morning/early afternoon buses to be completely full, as we have double buses running. As such, even those with difficult-to-transport kit (e.g. Hockey goalkeepers) will have space to be able to take their kit on board.

You can find all of this information and more on the University’s B:Active App and visiting Sports Teams> BUCS Wednesday.
