Come and soak in the atmosphere of a traditional Spring Festival Marketplace (or Temple Fair and “庙会”, miào huì, in Mandarin Chinese)!
Hosted in collaboration with Bristol SU, the Global Lounge and Bristol Chinese Students’ and Scholars’ Association (CSSA), the Marketplace will include a variety of exciting stalls, activities and musical performances. This event provides a fantastic chance to learn more about the customs and traditions associated with the Spring Festival.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
1. Participate in activities visiting seven themed stalls (arranged based on Chinese geographical locations).
2. Engage in collaborative handicraft booths (arranged according to Spring Festival celebrations and customs), such as calligraphy and fan painting.
3. Watch lots of different musical and dance performances, including a dragon and lion dance show as well as Chinese dance.
4. Win fantastic prizes and try some tasty traditional snacks at some of the stalls.
5. Purchase traditional food for a small price from some local Chinese restaurants.
This is a free, ticketed event. Tickets are available on the Global Lounge website. Book now to secure your spot!
