Got an exam at Coombe Dingle? We’ve got your morning covered! Thanks to lobbying from your Full Time Officer Team, especially your Student Living Officer, Lucy Pears, the University is running free morning shuttle buses to Coombe Dingle during the exam period.
✨ What’s included? -
A free ride to Coombe Dingle from Tyndall Avenue. A stress-free journey to your exam, making your morning more convenient!
🚌 Important travel info -
These buses are one-way only, so you’ll need to make your own way home. - Local options include the number 3 bus and the U1 for the return journey. - To make sure that you have the time to grab your free breakfast and to avoid delays to departure please arrive at the pick up point for the start time of this event. - Seats are limited and booking ahead guarantees your spot and gives you evidence of booking in case there are delays.
🧐Why are we doing this?
Lucy’s research in TB1 showed that over 40% of students had to get a taxi to exams at Coombe Dingle, costing students an estimated £7,000 overall. Nearly 70% said they’d use a shuttle service if it was available, so here it is! If this scheme goes well, there is a chance that we can continue doing this next year! So, remember to look out for an email afterwards and let us know how your journey went.
⚠️Important info from the University:
These free exam buses have been provided and funded by the University of Bristol following successful lobbying from the SU Officer Team. To reassure those of you who book to use this free service, if something were to happen that means that this free exam bus to Coombe Dingle is late or does not turn up, then the University would record this as an exam incident. The exam board considering your results would know about the incident and would take its impact into account. If a bus does not turn up, you should still attempt to make your own way to Coombe Dingle to sit your exam. The buses have been scheduled early to allow time for you to make your way to Coombe Dingle, in the unlikely event there is a problem with the bus. Important: Students will not be allowed to enter the exam hall after 09:45. Students arriving after the start time of 09:15 would still be able to start the exam if they are there by 09:45. Extra time is not given. If there was a major traffic situation which meant the buses were going to arrive later than 09:45, the University will decide as to whether students would still be allowed to start the exam, and how much time they would be able to have.

- The entire event is cancelled by the promoter or Bristol SU. Refunds are available to everyone who has purchased a ticket in advance.

Transfer Policy
- All tickets for Bristol SU events are non-transferrable and are assigned exclusively to your account.
