WELCOME TO BCA!
BCA is a space for young creatives to come together, share ideas, network, get their work seen and get a head start in their respective industries.
What makes BCA special in comparison to other arts societies is that we don’t place an emphasis on one creative discipline. Instead, we welcome students from all creative backgrounds to come together, creating a unique community where you can benefit from other students’ knowledge and skills in different areas, as well as giving you a platform to share your work and projects, and to collaborate with others. We want BCA’s community to grow into a centralised networking hub for all creatives who need other artists to collaborate with.
We want to encourage your creative endeavours and make sure that what you create with us will allow you to get a footing in your respective industries, which is why we dedicate a portion of the society’s budget to funding your projects. Our pitching sessions give you the chance to pitch your projects, where BCA members will then vote to decide who will receive financial funding. In addition, all BCA member projects, regardless of whether they received funding or not, have the option to be shown at our annual BCA exhibition, allowing you to show your work to friends, family and invited industry professionals. We also have our monthly newsletter, giving you a space to share your projects and advertise support that you need, as well as our growing Instagram and YouTube pages.
Throughout the year, BCA will be hosting a range of industry talks, screenings and workshops (led by both professionals and students), increasing your employability in your respective industries, whilst also giving you chance to meet, connect and make friends with other creatives, and try out other art forms in a judgement-free zone.
