Why you should be a Communist

Permacrisis

The world is on fire. Capitalism is in its deepest ever crisis. For the entirety of your conscious life, you have lived through the permacrisis that followed 2008. Every government and movement has betrayed the working class as they desperately try to uphold this rotten, senile system. For the last decade and a half, every government has had only austerity to offer. The bankers made bad gambles as they tried to use credit to patch over the crisis, and the working class was made to pay for their losses. Every pound lost on the stock market by the blithering personifications of capital, became a pound off of our NHS, or our wages, or our housing. Our universities were sold off to the private sector so now we're all 60 grand in debt and even still the universities have to cut courses, sell off assets, and make deals with nasty corporations.

Vacuum on the left and the rise of the right

Allowing all this chaos, is the vacuum on the left. In this period of crisis, the labour leaders of old would've called strikes and started militant fights against the stripping of the working class and the selling off of the family silver. But today we're left with vacillating, reformist, identity politics obsessed bureaucrats. Corbyn represented a great shift but he allowed the ruling class to sweep the rug out from under him. Faced with this line of betrayals, some are looking towards right wing populists like Farage. If there existed a strong working class party, boldly putting forward a socialist programme, Farage would've ran out of steam before he began. But while the electoral sphere has been dominated by the right, the working class have been taking things into their own hands with revolutionary movements in Nepal, Indonesia, Madagascar, Peru, France, Italy, etc. The struggle is only just beginning!

Socialism

We must build ourselves on a revolutionary, socialist programme. That means being anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, and pro workers' control. Socialism is production being held by the working class. The people that actually do the work. Not the parasites at the top that plunge us into crisis after crisis after crisis. The capitalist system of private ownership of industry has outlived its usefulness and now only holds back innovation, and art, and the entire human race. How many Einsteins are dying young of treatable diseases or going hungry like millions of British children? And how many fools are sat at the top of the world, in the boardrooms that deny those treatments and push families into poverty?

Join!

The full liberation of all mankind, and the pushing humanity out of our prehistory, requires dedicated study of how this brutal system works and the history of every workers' struggle against it. This is Marxism; our guide to action. We find this a task worthy of our time, and we hope you do to. Read the real analysis of current news at communist.red
