By purchasing membership with The University of Bristol Cycling Club you agree to the following terms and conditions:

The University of Bristol Cycling Club accepts no responsibility for any personal accident or injury occured whilst participating in any cycling activities, whether club organised or not.

Equipment hired out to members remains the property of the University of Bristol Cycling Club (“the Club”) and the hirer will not hire out, lend or otherwise part with possession thereof.

The Hirer will check that the Equipment is in good condition when the period of hire commences and will not use the Equipment if it is not safe or fit for purpose.

The Hirer is responsible to keep the equipment safe from damage, loss or theft, use it in a proper manner and not subject it to any misuse or unfair wear and tear.

The Hirer shall notify the Club immediately of any loss, damage or theft to the Equipment and will be responsible for paying repair or replacement costs.

The Club shall not be liable for any damaged caused or loss made whatsoever by breakdown or other defects in the Equipment or other circumstances beyond the Club’s control.

Club members shall agree to the Bike Hire Terms and Conditions upon purchasing membership.

Club members shall inform a ride leader or other individual in the same riding group of any serious medical conditions.

Club members shall wear a helmet when riding with a club organised ride and abide by the relevant laws applicable to the activity being undertaken.

 

UOBCC Bike Hire Agreement

1. The Bicycle let out on hire, including all accessories & attachments supplied herewith (the “Bicycle”), remains the property of the University of Bristol Cycling Club (“the Club”) and the Hirer will not hire out, lend or otherwise part with possession thereof.
2. The period of hire commences at the time of collection and is deemed to continue until the Club receives the Bicycle.
3. The Hirer is responsible to keep the Bicycle safe from damage, loss or theft, use it in a proper manner and not subject it to any misuse or unfair wear and tear.
4. The Hirer will ensure that the Bicycle is adequately secured to an immovable object when not in use.
5. The Hirer shall notify the Club immediately of any loss, damage or theft to the Bicycle.
6. The Hirer will be responsible for paying repair or replacement costs of any loss, damage or theft.
7. The Hirer shall wear a helmet at all times whilst riding the Bicycle and abide by the relevant laws applicable to the activity being undertaken on the Bicycle.
8. The Hirer will not use the Bicycle under the influence of drink or drugs.
9. The Hirer will check that the Bicycle is in good condition when the period of hire commences.
10. The Hirer will not ride the Bicycle if is not safe, fit for purpose or mechanically suitable and will report these issues the Club.
11. The Club shall not be liable for any damaged caused or loss made whatsoever by breakdown or other defects in the Bicycle or other circumstances beyond the Club’s control.
12. The Hirer shall pay for the hire charges before the period of hire commences.
13. The hire charges will be as follows:

Weekly Rate	£5
Daily Rate	£1

14. The Bicycle hire charge will be a minimum of £5 if taken on a Club organised trip.
15. Non-members will be charged double the standard rates.
16. The Hirer will not be charged extra if the Bicycle has to be collected or returned later due to the Club being unavailable.

 

Membership Fee Inclusions

Prior to signing up to a Club or Society speak to the Committee to find out what your membership includes and if there are any further expenses throughout the year.

 

Service Standards

 

All Club or Society members can expect to receive:

 

• The opportunity to attend regular meetings, events, activities, trips and socials as arranged.
• The opportunity to stand for a committee position or vote in their elections (Bristol students only).
• For Sports Club – to attend regular training sessions and have the opportunity to be selected for the teams.

 

Code of Conduct

 

When joining a club or society you are agreeing to abide by the constitution, general rules, regulations and policies of University of Bristol Students’ Union and also the Club or Society Code of Conduct which sets out the level of behaviour & discipline expected of all Club & Society members.

Refund Policy

 

Any customer who pays for a membership subscription to a Bristol SU Society, Sports Club, Student Media and initiatives has a 14 day cooling off period from the time and date of purchase during which they have the right to cancel the subscription and receive a full refund. If you do decide to cancel within the 14 days, Bristol SU will refund your payment within a further 30 days of the cancellation.  To request a refund please email: bristolsu@bristol.ac.uk

 

Data sharing (Sports Club members only)

 

Please be aware that Bristol SU may share data relating to the members of its sports clubs with the Centre for Sport, Exercise and Health (a department of the University).  This information may be used for the purposes of communicating direct with these members and/or to cross-reference against SEH's Sports Pass membership records.

 

As part of Bristol SU's membership of British Universities & Colleges Sports (BUCS) Bristol SU may have to share data on to its sports clubs members so BUCS can, from time to time, communicate with these members. 

 

Data sharing (Societies members only)

 

If you're joining one of the societies listed below please be aware that your name and email address will be shared with Bristol Hub for the purpose of keeping you up to date with their activities through their email “The Week”:
