Description

What is Earth Justice Society ?

Formerly BUST (Bristol University Sustainability Team), Earth Justice Society is your one-stop society for all things climate justice here at the University of Bristol!
Our society is FREE to join and it aims to empower students to tackle sustainability issues within Bristol University and the wider community and to shape their future.

We are dedicated to improving students and staff members' understanding of the climate crisis, including its relationship with other societal issues. We want to break through the echo chamber in student awareness and engagement with sustainability and climate action, and spread the message that sustainability is for everyone!

In joining EJS you will have the opportunity to learn more about climate action, make decisions, meet like-minded people and help make Bristol a more sustainable community.

Follow our Instagram for updates about events!

What do we do?

1. WORKSHOPS AND ACTIVITIES: These range from our regular 'think and drink' sessions and documentary screenings to hands-on workshops in collaboration with other societies. Previous year topics of discussion include renewable energy, food waste, fast fashion and use of plastics. This year we are going beyond these, to also cover societal challenges and solutions, as well as sustainability professions. They are great ways to meet like-minded people and learn more about climate justice.

2. COLLABORATION WITH OTHER SOCIETIES: We connect with other societies and groups to integrate sustainability throughout the whole of the UoB student body. Check our social media for our upcoming events!

3. ACTIVISM AND VOLUNTEERING: In the past, we have attended Bristol Climate March, Support Fossil Free Bristol Uni campaign. We are working closely with the university's sustainability department to actively influence their decision making.
