Building on the success of the Women in Media (WiM) talk series last year, Epigram's celebration of Women's History Month and International Women's Day this March takes the form of a conference. The WiM conference offers a space where women from a range of media backgrounds can come to share their expertise and their experience as a woman in their field, offering invaluable advice to students, particularly those aspiring to join the industry. The conference will host a wide range of expertise, from journalism to illustration. Although this event is aimed at championing women in media and uplifting students who identify as women, the conference is open to all students and will provide helpful insight for all attendees.
The structure of the conference will include a talk from a keynote speaker, two Q&A panel sessions, with time to mingle and network with panellists at the end.
Keynote Speaker:
Stephanie Marshall, Head of the BBC in the West/South West
Panellists:
Alex Berry, Sub Editor at Radio Times
Darcy Paver, Global Acquisitions Executive at the BBC
Rachel Finn, Freelance Writer and Editor
Alice Ferns, Illustrator with a background in copywriting, editorial, project management and communications
Helen Griffiths, Photographer, Writer and Videographer
Sanjana Idnani, TV News Journalist at BBC Wales
