Bristol SU Accreditation Scheme
Celebrating the Best Student Groups!
Bristol SU Group Accreditation is designed to help recognise and reward affiliated student groups who provide an excellent experience for their members.
Achieving accreditation shows your members and potential members how much they are valued and gives them confidence in your ability to provide an outstanding student experience through your group.
The Scheme
Bristol SU Group Accreditation runs from 1 August 2026 - 30 April 2026 and is made up of 17 criteria.
All affiliated student groups can take part in the scheme and work towards being awarded one of three levels of accreditation for 26/27:
- Bronze: for groups who achieve 5-8 criteria
- Silver: for groups who achieve 9 -13 criteria
- Gold: for groups who achieve 14 -17 criteria
Rewards & Benefits
Groups who achieve accreditation status will not only strengthen their reputation and enhance their members experience. They will also receive the following benefits from Bristol SU.
Gold 🥇
- Digital Kitemark and certificate
- Gold Rossette on Welcome Fair Stall
- Special consideration when applying to run a Special Event in the Anson Rooms (27/28)
- Special consideration when applying to Bristol SU schemes such as Welcome Fair GIAG! Arena, Welcome Fair Sports Demo Arena
- Priority on allocations for Welcome Fair stall (front of the tent)
- LinkedIn badge for committees
- Opportunity to advertise on digital screens around campus
- Opportunity for promotion on social media platforms during Welcome and Refreshers campaigns.
- For Sports Clubs: Extra 2 points towards SEH Allocation Matrix
Silver 🥈
- Digital Kitemark and certificate
- Silver Rossette on Welcome Fair Stall
- Special consideration when applying to run a Special Event in the Anson Rooms (27/28)
- Special consideration when applying to Bristol SU schemes such as Welcome Fair GIAG! Arena, Welcome Fair Sports Demo Arena

- For Sports Clubs: Extra 1 point towards SEH Allocation Matrix
Bronze 🥉

- Bronze Rossette on Welcome Fair Stall
- Priority on allocations for Welcome Fair stall (front of the tent after Gold and Silver)
- For Sports Clubs: Extra 0.5 points towards SEH Allocation Matrix
Using your Accreditation Benefits
Groups who gain an Accreditation status can use their benefits for the following academic year.
- Digital Kitemarks and Certificate - these are given to groups once the scheme has closed in April 2027. We will add your digital kitemark to your SU group webpage and you will be emailed your certificate.
- Rosette on Welcome Fair Stall - groups who are accredited in 2026 - 2027 academic year will receive a kitemark to display on their Welcome Fair 2027 stall.
- Special consideration when applying to run a Special Event in the Anson Rooms (27/28) - groups who are accredited in 2026 - 2027 academic year will be given special consideration if they decide to make an application for a Special Event in the Anson Rooms in the 2027 - 2028 academic year. Please note that strength of application is also considered.
- Special consideration when applying to Bristol SU schemes such as Welcome Fair GIAG Arena and Welcome Fair Sports Demo Arena - Gold groups who are accredited in 2026 - 2027 academic year will be given special consideration if they decide to make an application for a GIAG/Sports Demo Arena session at the 2027 Welcome Fair. Please note that strength of application is also considered.
- Priority on allocations for Welcome Fair - accredited groups will be given priority stalls in their tents at the 2027 Welcome Fair based on level achieved. These are stalls at the front of the tent with the most visibility.
- LinkedIn badge for committees - students on committee for a Gold accredited group will be emailed a LinkedIn badge once the scheme closes in April 2027. These badges can be attached to your LinkedIn profile.
- Opportunity for promotion on social media platforms during Welcome and Refreshers campaigns - Gold accredited groups will be featured on our Bristol SU Instagram page, including the opportunity to apply for SU Instagram Takeovers and other social media promotional schemes. Gold groups will also be featured in a celebratory article on the front page of the SU website once the scheme closes in April 2027.
- Opportunity to advertise on Digital Screens around campus - Gold groups are able to request one-week slots on our digital screens in Senate House and The Richmond Building. These slots can be used to promote group events, upcoming GIAG's or just general group promotion.

Once you have submitted evidence, the table below will update automatically. Submissions that are pending approval will be indicated by a clock symbol 🕒, approved submissions will be indicated by a tick ✔️, rejected submissions will be indicated by a cross ❌ and submissions that are partially complete will be indicated by an hourglass ⌛.
All groups will recieve an email when their evidence has been accepted, partially accepted or rejected.
