Description

Welcome to the Pagan Society at UoB! We are an open-minded community dedicated to exploring magick, divination, rituals, and various Pagan pathways. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner, a fledgling witch, or simply curious, our sessions will guide you through mastering your own mystical journey.

Immerse yourself in the fascinating magickal and Pagan history of Bristol and the South West, from the mystical charm of Glastonbury to the timeless grandeur of Stonehenge. We can’t wait to explore and share these rich legacies with you.

Our group is founded on principles of open communication and the well-being of our members. We regularly host talking circles, providing a space for meaningful conversations and connections.

When and Where We Meet

We meet once a week for Witchy Wednesdays, 6pm-8pm in the Odlum Room (found in the Richmond Building).

Keep an eye on our socials for the specific theme of the week, and for information on any extra events we’re organising.

Our major event this year will be the Yule Ball, held in early December. It promises to be an enchanting evening filled with festivities and music in celebration of the Winter Solstice. More details will be unveiled as the date approaches and we hope to see many of our members there!

Meet the Committee

Meet the dedicated individuals who make up our committee and lead our society:

    President: Raven Daly (they/he)

Hi, I’m Raven. I’ve been a practicing Pagan for the past 6 years, with a focus on herbalism and natural energies. I joined Pagan Society last year when I joined the uni as I found it was an incredibly friendly community to be part of, and it really helped me to settle into university and find people I could connect with. As President, I’ll be leading workshops and will be around most of the time as a friendly face to chat to.

    Secretary: Ella Wilson (she/her)

Hey my name’s Ella and I’m this year’s secretary! I’m still pretty new to Paganism on the whole as I tend to dip in and out of different aspects of Paganism but I mostly work with tarot, manifestation, and the zodiac. While I don’t work with any deities I do love a good bit of mythology and have read many a Greek retelling! I joined the Pagan Society last year and have learnt so much since and feel a much deeper connection to Paganism now - I hope that others can come along this year to practice and have some fun too!

    Equalities Officer: Jinx Foggon (he/him)

Hi, my name is Jinx, and I’m the Equalities Officer. I’ve been practicing under the umbrella of Paganism for around 7 years, however last year I converted to Kemeticism, a revival of Ancient Egyptian religion. My specialities are divination (tarot, pendulum, etc.) and I am in the beginnings of deity work. Pagan Society is a friendly and welcoming place to meet likeminded people and learn about the wide variety of personal practices Pagans have.

    Treasurer: Joe Chapman (he/him)

Hi, I'm Joe Chapman, your treasurer for the year. I'm here doing my Masters in Aerospace Engineering, and I've been part of the society for a year now, basically working as an expense approval monkey! As far as me personally, I'm a big board games/strategy fan, lover of silly words, and funnily enough, I'm not actually Pagan, but I know bits and bats from my time here. Always happy to meet new folks so feel free to chat some garbage with me :)

Memberships:

Joining the Pagan Society is easy, and we offer two membership options to suit your preferences. Our free membership grants you access to our sessions and discussions, where you can explore the mystical world of Paganism.

For those seeking a deeper connection and more exclusive benefits, we offer a paid membership that includes discounted event tickets and access to our rich library of resources, including tarot card sets and a selection of fascinating and educational books.

We’re excited to have you join us and share in the magic of our community, as we explore the mystical together.
