Bristol SU recognises that the costs of participating in student groups can be prohibitively expensive for some students. The Activity Hardship Fund was created to support those students who wouldn't otherwise be able to participate in their chosen activity due to the cost.
Join the Bristol Afrocentrism Society, a vibrant and empowering community founded by students dedicated to exploring and celebrating the richness of global Black experiences and perspectives.
Our core mission is to actively engage in decolonising Black history and cultural studies. We believe in looking beyond Eurocentric narratives to discover, discuss, and appreciate the immense contributions and diverse histories of African and diasporic cultures, philosophies, and achievements. Expect engaging workshops, insightful discussions, and thought-provoking talks that challenge conventional learning and open up new avenues of knowledge.
Beyond academics, we are committed to creating a truly social, inclusive, and empowering space for everyone. Whether you're deeply familiar with Afrocentrism or simply curious to learn more, you'll find a supportive, friendly atmosphere where you can connect with like-minded peers, share your experiences, and celebrate your identity. Come along to our events, from relaxed social gatherings to impactful guest speaker sessions; moreover, become part of a movement dedicated to self-discovery, community building, and cultural celebration!
